Check out the tried-and-true methods of starting a fire. Learn how fire’s importance to us and our landscape has never changed.
- Help build a natural tinder nest with native materials.
- Come see history in action with a friction fire from start to finish.
Meet: At the Amphitheater near the Playground, park at the Day-Use area.
Duration: Ranger talk + demonstration usually takes ~45 minutes.
What to Bring: Water, bug spray, appropriate clothing + footwear for the outdoors, and be ready to give thanks to the common lighter.
